Loneliness is never a comfortable companion and neither is abuse from others because one is alone. There is a terrible phenomenon oozing through the world of caring where many carers are not as good at their job description as they are at abusing their patients. Regularly on TV, there are programs after programs highlighting the abominable mistreatment of elders in their homes and in nursing homes. Types of elder abuse come in many forms and here are examples, physical abuse, financial or material abuse, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, neglect and acts of omission and discriminatory abuse.
