Stop Procrastinating on Saving for Retirement by Meeting Your Future Self

One of the reasons why most people put off saving for retirement is because it feels like something that's far off in the future. We keep telling ourselves that we still have plenty of time. In addition, we have a tendency to disassociate ourselves from our future selves, and view our future selves as strangers. Therefore, saving today so that we can fund our retirement 30 or 40 years in the future feels almost as if we were putting money aside for someone else. And why would anyone want to deprive their present self on behalf of a future self that feels like a stranger? The answer, then, is to begin to think vividly about your future self in order to make them feel more "real".
