Effective Alternatives to Conventional Drug or Alcohol Treatment Program Interventions
Although alcohol and drug treatment interventions are often effective in coercing people into a conventional 12 step or therapeutic treatment, the question becomes at what price? It is true that the substance user has been stopped, albeit temporarily, and is taken to a treatment facility. But is the facility and the method to manipulate this referral a positive experience, and will it be effective in the long term?
